Magazine Back Page - Progression

Here is the first stage of my production for my back cover. Here, I have already come up with a logo and brand name for my advertisement. Following my sketches I have made, I have designed the layout and contents following them. The background has also been taken into consideration following my sketches. The terms and conditions of creating advertisements have been added to the bottom of the page, as is usually seen on adverts (or small print is shown). However, there is a lot of negative space between the top of the logo and the T&C area. This needs to be fixed with either text or and new arrangement of the layout.
In response to the problem I faced about the negative space in Stage 1, I have added a grey background to that entire area. This is so that it shows that it is a different section of the advert (information). I have added in a persuasive description of the brand. This is so that the reader understands the brand better and knows what the brand sells. The terms and conditions are still in the bottom corner in small font. This is so that the reader does not include this is important information but if there is a legal problem, the T&C are there to refer beck to if needed. For the next stage, I will need to add the main image of the products that the brand is advertising so it attracts the correct target audience.

Here, I am working on removing the grey background of one of the images I will use as part of my back cover. I am currently using the Eraser Tool to remove any rough edges and background colours. Although this method is slow and can lead to errors along the way, it is more accurate. This is why I have used the Magic Eraser Tool to remove the majority of the background.

The next step, I've taken photos of camera lenses (the brand's products) that I have edited (from previous step) and applied them here. I have also added a reflection effect to the lenses. This is because it fills the negative space at the bottom of the page. The final parts of producing the back cover are that I will need a slogan of the brand to briefly explain the company in one short sentence to grab the reader's attention.
This is my final back cover advertisement. I have added a persuasive slogan, "Capturing the world in a clearer image" at the top of the page. I have used descriptive writing to describe how good the products (lenses) are. I have also added in a glass effect to the entire back cover. This is because my feedback from my peers say that the black background looks empty and should have something else within it. This caused a problem, as my research shows that the codes and convention of an advert of this kind does not have a background or pattern. To solve this, I added a glass effect to fill in the negative areas of the background. I have also increased the contrast and brightness of the lenses and reflection. This is because it didn't show very clearly and was not very clear.
