Magazine Front Cover - Progression

Here, I have just started production and have added appropriate background and the sketched logo for my magazine (with background). Here, I am currently editing the text that will be the 'Main Cover line'. This needs to be clear and bold as this will tell the reader the best thing about the magazine.

Here I have changed my ideas on the layout and logo of my magazine's front cover. This is because it took up too much room and did not follow the codes and convention of typical magazines well. So instead, I cropped the logo down to a more manageable size and moved the main cover line down to the left hand side, where it will follow the continuity theory better. However, I still have the problem of negative space in the top right corner and needs to be solved.
Now I have added more text into the magazine to fill the space on the left with colours and fonts I wanted to use in my sketches. I have also looked back on magazine front covers and found that many of them have stickers on the front page that if different to every other issue of magazine. This gave me the idea that I could put a sticker that makes my target audience want to buy the magazine. This also solves the problem of negative space in the top right corner and looks much better.

This is my final product. I have added a banner at the bottom of the page to fill up some of the negative space with another persuasive technique, a free giveaway. According to my research, many magazines choose to include free giveaways. This could be a free, cheap toy included in the magazine or it could be a form you have to fill out and you receive and much more expensive giveaway. In this case, I have included a free £2,500 camera. This not only fills in the space but persuades the target audience to buy the magazine. I have also taken feedback from my peers and they have said that I need to add something extra in the right side of the front cover and a barcode. Here, I have added a text box (that is translucent) saying that if you read this magazine, you can take great pictures like the one in the background. I do however need to add in a barcode so that it follows the codes and conventions.
